This is the world's first diagnostic support software developed in Japan for the early detection of melanoma (malignant melanoma) that occurs on the nails.  
This system analyzes images of the affected area (dermoscopy images) captured with a digital camera to support physicians in their diagnosis.  
Conventional diagnostic methods required removing the nail and extracting the affected area for examination, which placed a significant burden on patients.
However, with MelaNailScan, diagnosis is possible through advanced image analysis without removing the nail, significantly reducing the physical burden on patients.  
Additionally, nail melanoma is a rare disease with few physicians experienced in diagnosis, but this system addresses this challenge, significantly contributing to improving diagnostic accuracy and reducing patient burden.
